The Cities of Miami Beach and Miami

The city of Miami is part of Dade-County and the Miami city Guide will show you that it is composed of several municipalities such as the cities of Coral Gables, Miami Beach, Bal Harbour and more. When visitors come to Miami, most stay in the city of Miami Beach which is the historical center of Miami. When many say they are going to Miami, they actually mean Miami Beach.
In 2008, 13 Million visitors came to Miami. The city of Miami Beach is a very small town by American standards but its gross city product is $ 6.5 billion, one of the highest per capita in the US.
The city of Miami Beach is an island linked to the Mainland of Miami through bridges. It runs from First Street and Collins to 86th street. Miami’s population is very mixed. Americans, Cubans, Latin Americans and Europeans live in the city. Full-time residents are estimated at 95,000 people, which means that the city of Miami Beach always has more tourists than full time residents. This incredible mix of people is one other reason that visitors in Miami Beach feel at home. Miami Beach has a very large number of homes that belong to out-of-towners. The Miami city Guide states that visitors love Miami Beach so much that rather invest in a second or third home there instead of staying in Miami hotels.
Visitors with Miami holiday homes use their homes during their vacation and normally rent it out as a Miami Beach holiday rental while they are not in town. People that plan to come to Miami on vacation should always make sure whether their lodging is in the city of Miami Beach or in another area of Miami. The commute to the city of Miami Beach can be quite long if you are staying in South Miami or West Miami.
